Top 5 Coastal NC Activities to Complete Before Summer's End

Wilmington and Coastal North Carolina thrives on the summer season. If you’re like us, summer comes with a long list of activities you’d like to participate in, and inevitably is too short to get it all done. While the full summer bucket list might be exponentially longer, we offer the 5 things you must do on the North Carolina coast before summer comes to a screeching halt.

1. Spend a Night Under the Stars

Whether you simply stay outdoors long after the sun sets or you go all-out and camp outside for the night or weekend, be sure to get in one more warm night of stargazing. If your backyard is a favorite place to enjoy the celestial beauty of the night sky, our subtle Wilmington LED landscape lighting can illuminate your experience without dissipating the magnificence of the heavens above.

2. Throw One More Backyard BBQ

Summer is about friends, family, and outdoor everything. Outdoor cooking is near the top of the list of things we should do outdoors as much as possible. Combine the two by throwing one more summer backyard barbecue at your Wilmington area home. Enjoying the outdoors with friends, family and good food is easily done on your patio or deck with our hardscape lighting and deck lighting. From task lighting for prep and cooking to ambient lighting for a perfect mood, we have your backyard party covered.

3. Get Out on the Water

Fishing, boating, kayaking, or stand-up-paddle-boarding, we don’t care what you do, but get out on that water. What is living this close to the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Fear River and Intracoastal Waterway for if you are not going to get out there? While the water may stay warm for quite a while longer, the cool nights and cool days of fall might keep you from venturing out. Don’t wait another day, get out on the water now.

4. One More Beach Day/Pool Day

Squeeze in at least one more all-day beach or pool day! The hot sun on your skin, the soft sand between your toes, and a cooler full of cold sweet tea and lemonade and you’ve got the beach life figured out. Relax while the kids build sand castles on Carolina Beach and ride waves at Holden Beach or get out there and get some sand in your drawers too!

5. Visit the Downtown Wilmington Riverwalk

River WalkRestaurants, shops, charming historical homes, and a magnificent view of the Cape Fear River make the mile long boardwalk in downtown Wilmington a gem. Whether you come to tour the USS North Carolina, the Cotton Exchange, take a ghost tour, or simply to shop and dine, you must spend at least one more day or night on the Riverwalk before cooler weather sets in.
